Woman's body found in Torrance hotel room

Map shows approximate location of incident in black. Click through for more information. Torrance police were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a hotel room.

Employees found the 45-year-old woman on a bed about 3 p.m. Monday at the Extended Stay America Hotel in the 3500 block of Torrance Boulevard.

Authorities said they believe the woman had been staying at the hotel for several months. Torrance detectives have ruled the death a homicide.

Sgt. Jeremiah Hart of the Torrance Police Department said officials hope to have more information regarding the case in coming hours.

“Our detectives are actively pursuing this,” he said.
