2 men missing in rafting mishap on Kern River
Two Southern California men were missing Wednesday after their raft reportedly flipped over on the Kern River.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department identified the men as 22-year-old Scott Meacato, of Los Angeles, and 26-year-old Minh Nguyen, of Westminster.
Officials said they began searching for the man after two women told a local shop owner they had seen the raft flip but did not see the riders resurface.
The incident is said to have occurred in Ant Canyon, one mile north of Gold Ledge near Johnsondale.
