TV host Mario Lopez gets OK to update historic Glendale home

Mariolopez TV host Mario Lopez will be able to build that recreation room he's been planning at his historic home in Glendale after all.

City commissioners ruled Monday he can move forward even though he lacks the proper permit, as long as he follows certain conditions, the Glendale News-Press reported.

After reviewing proposed construction plans submitted for Lopez’s Kempton Road home, the Historic Preservation Commission decided Monday that the work didn’t negatively affect the 1929-era property.

It is listed on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources.

“I think the plans are very beautiful,” Commissioner Lorna Vartanian said. “I think they are sensitive to the property.”
