Three found dead in burning building in Chula Vista [Updated]

Three people were found dead inside a burning house in Chula Vista at around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Chula Vista police said.

Firefighters discovered the bodies after responding to a residential fire on Bonita Verde Drive in southern San Diego County. The police said the three "appear to have died of suspicious causes."

Fire and police investigators are at the scene.

[Updated, 6:10 a.m.: The victims are believed to be the residents of the home. Firefighters found a man's body in one bedroom and two other bodies in a separate bedroom. Police declined to identify the age or gender of those two people. The case is being handled as possible arson and murder-suicide.]
