Temescal Valley blaze burns through 150 acres; no homes threatened so far

Firefighters are trying to contain a blaze that has devoured 150 acres in Temescal Valley near Corona but which so far has not threatened any homes.

“The winds have died down a little,” said Kevin Slusarski, a spokesman for the Riverside County Fire Department. “We’re assessing the situation.”

The fire started shortly before 12:30 p.m. Thursday, and is being fought by 180 firefighters, two air tankers and a helicopter, Slusarski said.

There have been no evacuations.
