Teacher accused of hosting drinking party for teens

A middle school teacher in the northern San Diego County community of Valley Center is facing a misdemeanor charge after authorities said she hosted a graduation party at which teenagers got drunk, played strip poker and made enough noise to upset neighbors.

Nancy Hildebrand, 56, was arrested Sunday when San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputies went to her home after receiving complaints from neighbors about drunk teenagers making noise. The party was a high school graduation bash for Hildebrand's daughter, deputies said.

The county has a "social host" ordinance that holds adults responsible if they permit parties at which underage persons are allowed to drink.

Officials said several dozen teens were at the party, which one deputy described as looking like something from the movie "Animal House."
