Several homes threatened by Acton brush fire

Acton Several homes were being threatened Thursday by a growing 5-acre brush fire in Acton, an L.A. County Fire Department official said.

A total of  200 county firefighters have responded to the blaze, reported at 11 a.m. near 6780 Hubbard Road, said Inspector Matt Levesque of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

In addition, three helicopters have been dispatched.

Levesque described the area as mainly rural.
