Palmdale man pleads guilty in 2008 rape, kidnapping case that had gone cold

June 21, 2011 |  7:51 pm

A 23-year-old Antelope Valley man pleaded guilty Tuesday to kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and raping her in a 2008 case that had gone cold.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department developed a "DNA hit" last year that led them to Paul Lorenzo Madry, who entered his plea in Los Angeles County Superior Court, authorities said.

Madry was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison, the L.A. County district attorney's office said.

The woman was kidnapped as she walked through the Compton Courthouse grounds and was raped in an area not visible to passersby, authorities said.
