June 8, 2011 |  9:25 am

A woman places flowers at the scene Wednesday morning where a man the night before struck his brother and father with a car, killing his father, in Slymar.

A man allegedly ran over and killed his father in Sylmar, also striking and injuring his brother, police said Wednesday.

Slymar2 The two brothers were in a dispute Tuesday night in the 13000 block of North Bradley Avenue, when one got into a car, and drove at the other, police said. It’s unclear if he intended to hit both.

“Somehow he hits both the brother and the father,” said Officer Lyle Knight said.

The father died and the man’s brother was taken to a hospital.

The father was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as Francisco Fariaf Martinez, 62.

The driver, who has not been identified, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Initial reports from police Tuesday night indicated the father may have been stabbed at some point, but Knight said he had no information Wednesday morning to confirm that.
