Man slain by gunfire in Florence-Firestone neighborhood
Sheriff's homicide detectives were responding to a deadly shooting Monday night in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood in unincorporated South Los Angeles.
The victim was described only as an adult male who was shot in the 1900 block of Nadeau Street, the Los Angles County Sheriff's Department said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least 143 homicides have been reported within two miles of the shooting scene since Jan. 1, 2007, according to a Times Homicide Report database.
