Crime alerts for Vermont-Slauson, West Hills and eight other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 10 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Five neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Vermont-Slauson (A) was the most unusual, recording 17 reports compared with a weekly average of 8.8 over the last three months.

West Hills (F) topped the list of five neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 21 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 10.5 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for June 12–June 18, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
