Crime alerts for Boyle Heights, Winnetka and 13 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 15 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Ten neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Boyle Heights (A) was the most unusual, recording 18 reports compared with a weekly average of 9.2 over the last three months.

Winnetka (K) topped the list of seven neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 26 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 15.8 over the last three months.

Two neighborhoods, Echo Park and Chatsworth, triggered alerts for both violent and property crime.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for May 21–May 27, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
