June 21, 2011 |  1:15 pm

Untitled A man was arrested Tuesday morning after he was seen carrying a gun on Interstate 5 in Mission Hills.

Officers received a call about 10:45 a.m. about a man walking with a gun in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Rinaldi Street, said Officer Christopher No of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene and evacuated motorists from the freeway and people from the surrounding area, No said.

They continued to observe the man, and after seeing him cut himself with a knife, officers took him into custody.

No shots were fired, and the man suffered only non-life-threatening injuries, No said. Officials have yet to determine if charges will be filed.

The freeway was opened shortly after the man's arrest.
