Girl, 17, shot to death in Moreno Valley

Chelsea Riverside County authorities say a 17-year-old girl was shot as she sat in a car in front of a Moreno Valley home and died at a hospital.

A coroner's statement said Chelsia Joyce was declared dead Sunday at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.

The Sheriff's Department says deputies arrived minutes after receiving a call of shots fired and found Chelsia with a single gunshot wound.

The Sheriff's Department and the Moreno Valley Police Department are investigating.
