Father dies after being stabbed and run over by his son in Sylmar, LAPD says

An apparent domestic argument turned deadly Tuesday night when a father died after was stabbed and run over by a car driven by his son, Los Angeles police said.

The father was in his 60s and the son was in his 20s, said Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department. 

Another man was with the son in the vehicle, which crashed into a pole and left one of them in critical condition, police said. The other person in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Rayner said it was unclear what sparked the dispute, which broke out shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 13000 block of North Bradley Avenue. The father was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were at the scene.
