Deputies involved in shooting in Hawthorne

Hawthorne shooting A person was shot Thursday evening in an incident involving deputies in Hawthorne, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 6:45 p.m. during a confrontation with the person in 12800 block of South Prairie Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The condition of wounded person was not immediately known. Investigators were at the scene gathering evidence.
