Bob Hope Airport transit center may be dramatically scaled back
Bob Hope Airport officials may dramatically scale back a proposed regional transit center after construction bids came in tens of millions of dollars higher than the expected $120-million price tag.
Bids came in between roughly $159 million and $187 million, surprising members of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority who were briefed on the submissions during a meeting Monday.
Airport Executive Director Dan Feger suggested removing one floor from the proposed structure as a way to reduce costs when the airport sends a revised project out for new bids.
