Autopsy on O.C. fashion designer Jonas Bevacqua is inconclusive

Jonas Bevacqua
An autopsy Wednesday failed to determine a cause of death for Jonas Bevacqua, 33, an Orange County fashion designer who co-founded the successful LRG clothing line.

Bevacqua died Monday at his Laguna Beach home. The autopsy was inconclusive, and county medical officials are awaiting the results of a toxicology test and other lab studies, according to the Orange County coroner's office.

Investigators at the home found no indications of what caused Bevacqua's death, such as trauma to the body or signs of medical problems, Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino said in an interview Tuesday.

Bevacqua and Robert Wright co-founded LRG, or Lifted Research Group, in 1999 and operated the company in Irvine. LRG gained success by creating a unique brand that blended skateboard and urban styles, said Hymie Betesh, chief executive of the clothing firm DrJays.com.

"They've been a leader in crossing that line," Betesh told The Times.
