Angels team flight makes emergency landing at LAX

A Delta Airlines aircraft that made an emergency landing at LAX on Wednesday night was carrying members of the Angels who had played a game against the Kansas City Royals.

"Everybody was cool, calm and collected and knew they were in good hands," Tim Mead, Angels vice president of communications, told KCAL-TV (Channel 9).

He said the flight was scheduled to land at John Wayne Airport.

The Boeing 737 reported hydraulic problems and landed without incident about 9 p.m., Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor told The Times.
