June 13, 2011 | 10:31 pm

A suspect was arrested Monday night in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 12-year-old boy in Anaheim, police told The Times.

The boy was attacked about 2:40 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of East La Palma Avenue, the Anaheim Police Department said.

Paramedics treated the boy at the scene and took him to a nearby hospital, where he died of his wounds.

Monday evening, police detained a person of interest -- described as an adult male -- who was to be questioned by homicide detectives, according to the police.

Officers at the scene told KTTV Fox News 11 that the suspect was an 18-year-old man.
