Boy, 12, fatally stabbed on busy Anaheim street

Anaheim stabbing scene
Anaheim police were seeking witnesses after a 12-year-old boy was fatally stabbed Monday afternoon on a busy street.

The boy was attacked about 2:40 p.m in the 1500 block of East La Palma Avenue, the Anaheim Police Department said.

Paramedics treated the boy at the scene and took him to a nearby hospital, where he died of his wounds.

"We know there's witnesses to this incident, and we're asking that they come forward," Sgt. Eric Trapp told The Times.

He said detectives were talking to some potential witnesses but were looking for other people who saw the attack. Police did not release a description of the assailant.
