Alleged drunk driver crashes into workout studio

Dd A man suspected of drunk driving crashed his car into a Costa Mesa workout studio Sunday night, police said.

Police said Deashawn Goodard, 31, was trying to park his car or was pulling into a driveway near Cardio Barre Studio, at 369 E. 17th St., when he crashed through the building about 10:46 p.m., said Costa Mesa police Lt. Robert Sharpnack.

Goodard's car didn't stop until it hit the business' west wall. Police found Goodard stumbling around inside the studio, Sharpnack said.

He was later taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. The crash caused about $5,000 in damages, Sharpnack told the Daily Pilot.
