Cashier stole $2,700 from Target to pay for school, rent, police say
An 18-year-old cashier at Target was arrested Saturday on suspicion of stealing $2,700 from the Glendale store to pay for rent and school, police said.
Parley Estes was taken into custody about 2:50 p.m. in connection with embezzlement after store security noticed the first theft in April at the store on Colorado Street, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Store security officials maintained surveillance of Estes and later reported the alleged theft to police, who arrested him.
An investigation into the theft revealed that about $2,700 was stolen from the store, Lorenz said.
