Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 15 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.

Eight neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Vermont Square (A) was the most unusual, recording 25 reports compared with a weekly average of 12.2 over the last three months.

Bel-Air (I) topped the list of seven neighborhoods with property-crime alerts. It recorded seven property crimes compared with its weekly average of 1.5 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for April 28–May 4, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
