Electrical explosion near UCLA leaves bus driver with minor injuries, damages building

An electrical transformer vault exploded Tuesday morning in Westwood near the UCLA campus, Los Angeles city fire officials said.

Residents reported hearing a loud explosion, which left a bus driver with minor injuries and caused minor damage to a building in the area of Weyburn Avenue and Westwood Boulevard.

There was no fire, and the Department of Water and Power has been notified of the accident, fire officials said.
