Two San Diego shootings leave seven wounded, dog dead

A dog was killed and seven people were wounded Saturday night in two incidents in San Diego.

In the Valencia Park neighborhood, a gunman fired into a garage where three men were smoking marijuana and gambling, police said. A 30-year-old man was shot in the back and a 19-year-old and a 22-year-old were struck in the legs. A dog was killed.

In the Mid-City area, a shaven-headed gunman burst into a Cinco de Mayo party and began firing with two handguns, police said. The victims included a 16-year-old boy shot in the back, a 15-year-old boy shot in the thigh, a 24-year-old man shot in the stomach and a 25-year-old man shot in the stomach and forearm.

In both incidents the victims were taken to local hospitals and their wounds listed as non-life threatening. No arrests were made.
