CHP officer injured in Glendale after being hit by car

A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Tuesday after being struck by a motorist on the transition road between the 134 Freeway and the 2 Freeway, department officials said.

The officer, who was not immediately identified, was hit around 1:45 p.m. on the connector to the northbound 2 Freeway while trying to slow down traffic to aid a disabled driver.

It was not immediately clear whether the officer was in or outside of his patrol car. But he complained of leg pain following the impact.

CHP officials said the officer, who likely suffered a broken leg, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.
