911 lines out of service in San Bernardino County High Desert

All 911 lines in the High Desert area of San Bernardino County were out of service Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Affected communities included the Victorville area, Hesperia, Apple Valley and Adelanto.

Residents are asked to call (760) 245-4211 for all emergency and non-emergency calls.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department said it was investigating what caused the breakdown. There was no estimate on when the 911 system would be fixed.

No additional details were immediately available.
