Woman slain in officer-involved shooting in Watts [Updated]

A woman was killed in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Watts -- the area's second fatal shooting of the day involving police, authorities said.

The slaying  occurred about 7:20 p.m. after patrol officers responded to a "shots fired" call in the 10000 block of Anzac Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The name of the woman was not released. Investigators were going to the scene.

[Updated 9:08 p.m: Officers responded to reports that the woman was shooting at her daughter and her grandchildren, according to LAPD Officer Karen Rayner.]

Meanwhile, police identified a man killed Wednesday morning by officers as Jose Solario Abraham, 46. He allegedly confronted officers in the 1700 block of East 115th Street with a shotgun and knife and refused commands to drop the weapons. Officers opened fire after he pointed the shotgun at them, according to the LAPD.

Good. One less nutcase.

Point a firearm at police, expect to be shot. There is no great mystery in this, assuming the story is told accurately.

Thank You LAPD for all you do....

Typical Mestizo Behavior.

only in watts 1 police angency southeast get to kill 2 people in 1 day i think the cops was already fired up from the earlier killin over reacted a woman u know she was black or latino

Stand-by--- Rev. Al and Jessie are already buying plane tickets for this one....
The woman was just do'n a little motherly disssipline....and the man shot pointing the shot gun at Officers, he was just having a bad day..so it's obvious that the POlice were profiling.....

What did her daughter do that caused her to start shooting at her and her grand kids... Damn grandma...

good riddance

Hey Watts Up... Why don't you learn how to speak and spell before you levy judgement on a situation you clearly don't want to comprehend. Next time someone shoots a shotgun at you, don't bother calling your local police. Just drop into a fetal position,, crap in your pants and talk more bullsh*t like we all know you will do.
