Two San Pedro schools placed on lockdown as police search for gunman
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies and canine units are searching for a man who was seen carrying a gun Friday morning near two schools in San Pedro.
Bandini Elementary School and Harbor Adult School were placed on lockdown as a precaution, LAUSD campus police said.
Authorities said a sheriff's deputy attempted to stop and indentify the man about 8:30 a.m., but the suspect fled. Deputies say they believe they have contained the man on a block they are searching near the schools.
