Small earthquake hits Orange County

A small earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon in Costa Mesa.

The 2.2 temblor occurred about two miles northwest of central Costa Mesa and about two miles southeast of Fountain Valley (that's about 32 miles south of downtown Los Angeles).

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 3:23 p.m.
