April 30, 2011 | 12:17 pm

Three gang members in a vehicle drove by a party for a slain gang member in Watts on Saturday, opened fire and wounded seven people, according to media reports.

Lt. Andy Neiman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section told City News Service that the shooting occured in the 9500 block of Holmes Avenue about 12:40 a.m.

All the victims were in their 20s, said Los Angeles police Sgt. Philip Thomas of the Southeast Station, and included at least one woman.

[Updated at 12:46 p.m.: A witness told KTLA News that the event was arranged to offset funeral costs for 22-year-old Jesus Sanchez that was reportedly murdered in the same neighborhood.]
