Santa Monica police seek robbers in $1.5-million jewelry heist

Santa Monica police Tuesday were looking for three masked suspects who robbed a man of an estimated $1.5 million in jewelry.

At least one of the assailants was armed when they confronted the man shortly after 2 p.m. near the 2000 block of Wilshire Boulevard, the Santa Monica Police Department said.

The man, who sells jewelry to stores, was robbed of display items, police said. He was not injured.

The thieves fled in a silver or gray Nissan. Anyone with information is asked to call Robbery-Homicide Division detectives at (310) 458-8451.

Has anyone checked the whereabouts of Lindsay Lohan? She seems to like jewelry from Santa Monica.
Just curious..................

Insurance fraud. Jewelers go to conventions and auctions to buy gold. The gold and diamond district sells jewelery wholesale. I smell an insurance scam. $1.5 million, yeah right.

I think it is a sad state when something this violent and malicious happens to an honest and good person and the only comments here are from these two fools.

Luckily, except for insurance purposes, they only lost $1800.00 worth of jewelry.

Insurence job for sure...

I'll be sure and look for men wearing masks.

Definitely insurance scam. Happens ALL the time, here in Atlanta.

The man this happened to is my friend. He is pretty shaken up after being the victim of such an awful crime. He's lucky they did not shoot or kill him. Some of your comments really show how little concern most of us have for the rest of society. Lindsay Lohan comment was hilarious. Can't wait to pass it on my friend.

everyone's got two cents to share... on that note ...osama got killed by obama
