San Pedro school lockdowns lifted after arrest of armed man
A man carrying a gun near two schools in San Pedro has been taken into custody, allowing campus lockdowns to be lifted.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy attempted to stop and identify the man about 8:30 a.m., but the suspect fled. Bandini Elementary School and Harbor Adult School were placed on lockdown during the search as a precaution.
Deputies contained the man within a block near the schools and, using canine units, found the suspect and recovered the gun shortly before 11 a.m. His identity wasn’t immediately available.

So, the man wasn't doing anything wrong exactly, just exersized his constitutional rights to keep and bear a firearm for personal protection and he was arrested?

Alex, if he was not doing anything wrong, why did he run from the Deputy! Stop with the twisting the story to your view crap! If a grown man is carrying a gun and then runs from the cops, something is NOT RIGHT!!!! Arresting him was absolutely appropriate!

Alex,
Actually, it is against the law to carry a firearm within a school zone. I guess you are one of those people that criticize the police no matter what they do. If they would have left him alone and he killed some children you would say that the Sheriffs didn't do their job by stopping him in the first place.

He wasnt doing anything but when he was question, he ran away...why would he? whats there to hide? good he was arrested. if he's clean then he'll be free.

No Alex, He ran. When a cop tells you to stop and you run, you've just committed a crime. When you carry a loaded firearm within 500 yards of a school, it is a felony in California. If the guy ran from police, chances are he was up to no good and was not properly carrying his firearm.
