Onion spill closes two southbound lanes of 710 Freeway
A load of onions spilled onto the 710 Freeway at Bandini Boulevard on Thursday morning when a big rig overtuned.
Two southbound lanes were closed while crews cleaned up the fragrant load, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The truck overturned about 3 a.m., tearing through a guardrail before dumping its cargo, said Officer Francisco Villalobos of the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators were trying to determine what caused the accident, Villalobos said.
