Nine hurt in three-way traffic pileup in Torrance

Nine people were injured, two critically, in a three-vehicle crash Sunday at a Torrance intersection, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was reported at 5:03 p.m. at the intersection of Redondo Beach Boulevard and Prairie Avenue, CHP Officer Krystal Carter said.

In addition to the two who were critically injured, seven others sustained minor injuries, Carter said.

The intersection was reopened about 7:15 p.m.
