Although the investigation was in its preliminary stages, LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon said initial information led detectives to believe the man died of blunt-force trauma.

The man's body was found about 7:30 a.m. in a single-room occupancy building in the 600 block of Wall Street. Detectives were at the crime scene, interviewing potential witnesses.

Really this is news? It's Skid Row....what else should we expect?

Really! It is skid row, however these are still humans that we are talking about; the fact that you do not live in skid row does not make you better. Your comment is just inhumane and inconsiderate. Think about the things you post, not everybody feels the way that you do.

Sad... to die in Skid Row in the midst of homelessness, prostitution, drug addicts and people not playing with a full deck. It's the sad truth that the city don't have, or have resources for a few people. Just imagine and earthquake in LA, and the response of LA officials... that'll be a fun ball game.

Volunteers of America Ballington Plaza is poorly managed. They allow small children to visit a high-risk pedophile, a high-risk pedophile that are known to rape kids. The assistant manager is always begging for food or money from the clients and deals in illegal drugs. The assistant manager also has sex with a client in the LAMP program also. Apartments are constantly being broken into by staff. The night security rover is always asleep and the security lady is always asleep at the desk at night. The victim was a Veteran and he wasn't a drug abuser. Management has a reputation of putting peoples checks in the wrong mailbox. And also the management likes to announce in the apartment lobby when a persons check has arrived.

Skid Row is actually the safest area of the city. Every affluent person knows this. That's why all the uber wealthy are moving to downtown LA
