Man wearing dress charged with attempted sex assault of teenage girl in San Diego, police say

A man wearing a dress was arrested on suspicion of trying to sexually attack a 17-year-old girl, San Diego police said Sunday.

The man, described as in his mid-20s, allegedly threatened the teenager with a knife as she was walking alone about 9:40 p.m. in the mid-city area. As he tried to pull her into nearby bushes, she screamed, grabbed the knife and ran away, police said.

A suspect was found, charged with sexual battery and assault with a deadly weapon and booked into county jail. The girl was treated at a hospital for cuts on her fingers.
