Man slain in Diamond Bar after argument turns violent, authorities say

Click here for a Times homicide database. An argument in Diamond Bar turned deadly Thursday when a man was fatally shot, according to authorities.

The victim was found lying in the driveway of the home about 11 a.m. by deputies who had responded to a call of shots fired and assault with a deadly weapon, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The victim had a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at scene in the 1100 block of Del Sol Lane. His name was not released.

Authorities said the roommate of the victim was being detained for questioning.

At least three other homicides have been reported in Diamond Bar since January 2007, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
