L.A. investigating porn shoot allegedly involving on-duty traffic officers
Los Angeles officials have launched an investigation into allegations that two on-duty city traffic officers participated in a pornographic video using city uniforms and a city vehicle.
The employees allegedly involved were placed on administrative leave Thursday pending completion of the inquiry, according to Amir Sedadi, interim general manager of the Department of Transportation.
The investigation apparently stems from inquiries by KNBC Channel 4, which was planning to air an investigative report on the employees Friday night.
According to the news channel, the video was posted on an adult subscription website and shows an actress approaching a city traffic officer and jumping into his arms.
A second officer is spanked by the actress, who then gets into an official city car and performs lewd acts on herself, according to KNBC’s account.
A parking enforcement manager knew of the employees’ behavior more than two months ago -- and referenced it in a memo to superiors and employees -- but failed to take disciplinary action, the station reported. The manager reportedly said the men in the video could not be positively identified as employees.
City Councilman Bill Rosendahl, chairman of the city Transportation Committee, was briefed on the investigation and said he was “appalled and outraged.”
“If there is any criminal aspect to this, there will be action,” the councilman said.
The city’s parking ticket operation has come under frequent criticism, including an audit released this week saying millions of dollars in fines have gone uncollected at a time when the city is facing budget shortfalls.
Transportation department executive Sedadi said his agency “does not condone or tolerate unacceptable or inappropriate behavior from any of our employees.
“The allegations involving these two individuals in no way should be taken as representative of the nearly 600 professional” parking and traffic officers in the city, he said.
A department spokesman said the city attorney, the Los Angeles Police Department and/or personnel department investigators may be involved in the investigation.

600 enforcement people? that's the real problem, another fiefdom that metes out extreme financial penalties on people who're gouged everywhere for minor infractions. GET REAL JOBS.

Who is liable if either of these officers ends up having a sexually transmitted disease that could be directly connected to this porn shoot? However, I believe that the police officers' union will ensure that either or both of these officer only get a slap on their wrists.

You call THAT lewd behavior? The Parking Authority fiscally sodomizes thousands of citizens daily in their relentless pursuit of profits. THAT is pornographic - a lewd assault of decency itself. Parking Enforcement - despicable desperadoes milking us for every cent they can get.

These are the guys putting tickets on all of the hard working taxpayer's cars which are parked at parking meters that expired 1 minute ago, and will never give any hard working taxpayer any kind of break. OK.
I'm sure their public service union will protect them and they'll get a day off (with pay) as a punishment.

These are civilian traffic control officers, not police officers, just to be clear.

Who cares? Who does this hurt?
Millions in graft and mismanagement out of taxpayer pockets, but petty witch hunts don't upset big donors. Disgusting.

I don't know which is more shocking. The actions of these officers or KNBC channel 4 actually doing investigative reporting. Was somebody at channel 4 doing some surfing and stubbled on this? Oops!

Does the L.A. Times not know the difference between Traffic Officers and Civilian Parking Control or does the headline implying Police Officers just look better?

~sigh. Why do idiotic City supervisors wait until the media gets a hold of their dirty laundry, and then start blubbering about their "intolerance" for misbehavior? So it's okay to engage in this behavior if you can't be identified? There are no ethics left in this world.
