Crime alerts for Sylmar, Harvard Heights and seven other L.A. neighborhoods
Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in nine L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Eight neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Sylmar (A) recorded nine reports compared with a weekly average of 2.4 over the last three months.
Harvard Heights (I) was the lone neighborhood with a property-crime alert. It recorded 11 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 5.6 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for April 3 through April 9, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
