Injury accident closes eastbound 118 Freeway in Granada Hills
A collision between a truck and a car closed the eastbound 118 Freeway on Thursday morning in Granada Hills and left one person seriously injured.
The crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m. west of Woodley Avenue. Arriving officers shut down all eastbound lanes until 5:43 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.
At that time, the carpool lane was opened for through traffic. Over the next 1 1/2 hours, officers gradually allowed traffic in the remaining lanes.
Predictably, traffic was worse than usual.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
