Mother allegedly hid heroin in teenage son's pants

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies discovered six bags of heroin inside the pants of a 14-year-old in Canyon Country after pulling the boy’s mother over in a traffic stop, authorities said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old mother from Lake Los Angeles admitted she hid the plastic bags in her son’s pants, authorities said. Her 14-year-old and her other son, who is 11, were released to child protective services after the Monday incident.

Deputies said they also found methamphetamines on the woman.

She told deputies she was a single mother who was transporting the drugs “this one time” to pay the rent, but deputies found evidence indicating she had been selling drugs for some time, authorities said.

Deputies arrested her for possession of heroin for sale, transporting heroin, child endangerment and inducing a minor to transport heroin.

Ummm... With more people out of work I assume they will not fade away. The cuts to medicaid, food stamps, and worst of all job growth is going to account for more crime ( met with less police officers ) and more poverty.

When people are desperate they will do anything. Thankfully this one didn't kill her kids.

Incredible! Actually not really.

....this does not hold a candle to working a prison visiting room

If this was "just a traffic stop" then why were the children groped, er, frisked?

What was the original traffic violation?

Yes I am aware that the mother of this story is certainly not a sympathetic character, but these days, I am more concerned about 4th Amendment issues and I don't care whom might disagree with me.

The journalist responsible for this story has left out a lot of information OR the police have refused to provide - say it isn't so!

@Jennifer: but remember, it's still people that make decisions to commit crimes. Their circumstances do not force them to do anything. I was living in poverty for many years. I had opportunities to sell drugs or even be an escort... but these went against my moral code AND I knew they could limit me long-term if I was caught and had the blemish on my record.

Great parenting. The best example of what a role model should be to their children... Wow.

Another single mother pulling the fem card to try and pull a fast one over the police and the public in general.

Gee Mom !
What am I supposed to do with this? Am I supposed to do it with you or hide it for you or ?

Mom, your the greatest....NOT!

dear old Mom
