Baby bobcat found sleeping on Irvine balcony

April 11, 2011 |  9:05 am

Cat on a hot tin roof? Not exactly.

A baby bobcat in search of a comfortable place to sleep somehow managed to find his way to a fourth-floor balcony at an apartment complex near UC Irvine.

Irvine authorities told KTLA-TV Channel 5 that the bobcat may have reached the balcony by climbing up a nearby parking structure, then making the jump over.

The cat was discovered Friday sleeping under a barbecue. But when animal services arrived, it jumped onto another balcony, KTLA reported.

The rescue was captured on video by a KTLA viewer. The cat has been released back into the wild.
