After heat wave, cooler temperatures return to L.A.

Click to see extended forecast and current conditions After several hot days, the L.A. area will see a cooling trend this weekend.

Cloudy skies are expected to roll in over L.A. Saturday, and temperatures could reach a low of 70 degrees -- a significant drop from the 80- and 90-degree temperatures during this week's heat wave. Valley and inland areas will reach the mid-70s.

There is a 30% chance of scattered showers on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The overcast conditions should continue through next week, with temperatures hovering in the 60s and 70s.
