Videos show tsunami tossing boats at Catalina harbor
New video has been posted showing the tsunami spawned by the massive Japan earthquake moving into Cat Harbor on Catalina Island and pushing around boats.
The tsunami caused damage to about 10 boats -- including one owned by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department -- as well as some docks. Overall, California suffered an estimated $50 million damage from the tsunami, mostly to harbors in Crescent City and Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz officials estimate that the harbor there suffered at least $25 million damage, and said sonar is being used to determine whether more boats are under water. There is also new video on L.A. Observed showing small surges on Ballona Creek.
