U.S. Customs officer arrested in O.C. sexual assault case

Miguel LermaA U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a woman inside his vehicle in Santa Ana.

Miguel Lerma Jr. was arrested Thursday at his home in Fountain Valley as he was heading to work, authorities were quoted as saying in a KTLA report.

Lerma is suspected of assaulting the 20-year-old woman in November.

He was arrested after investigators linked DNA in the case to a 2009 sexual assault in Long Beach, according to the news report.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call detectives at (714) 741-5704.
