Temperatures hit the 80s across Southern California

Areas across Southern California basked in 80 degree weather Wednesday as a high-pressure zone kept temperatures above seasonal normals.

The temperature reached 86 degrees in San Gabriel, 84 in Burbank and 81 near the coast at Santa Monica Airport, the National Weather service reported. The temperature in downtown Los Angeles was 85.

Near the beach in Orange County, Newport Beach hit 83 degrees. Yorba Linda was 84 degrees and Anaheim reached 86, according to the weather service.

In Ventura County, Fillmore topped out at 85 degrees, Ojai at 83 and Camarillo at 80.

The region was heated by warm offshore winds that are expected to gradually diminish Thursday. The area will experience a cool-down beginning Friday and through the weekend, the weather service said.
