Riverside County man arrested in child porn case

Steven Vonstein A Riverside County man has been booked on suspicion of possessing child pornography after he entered a library from where he had been previously banned, authorities said.

Officers confronted Steven Vonstein, 55, at a bus stop in La Quinta and said he was allegedly carrying child pornography, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Officers initally responded to the La Quinta library after receiving a call of a suspicious person.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (760) 863-8990.

What? He was arrested for child pornography because he trespassed at a library? Or was the library going to let him get away with having child pornography until he came back? Or did the officers find the material on him? Did he consent to that search?
