Deputies fatally shoot man near Willowbrook

A 24-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in an officer-involved shooting west of Willowbrook, authorities said.

The man, who was suspected of brandishing a gun at motorists on El Segundo Boulevard in Willowbrook, led Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies on a chase around 3 a.m., according to Sgt. Diane Hecht.

After several minutes, the man abandoned his motocycle in the middle of El Segundo Boulevard just west of the 110 Freeway, removed his helmet and challenged deputies to a fight, she said.

Hecht said deputies fatally shot the man after he removed what they thought was a handgun from his waist and pointed it at them.

The deputies were not injured, she said. A replica pistol was recovered at the scene.

police story is fishy. not believable. As usaul there was no real gun

This is the kind of stuff FEAR breads. But no doubt we will keep out prisons stocked and continue to fund the suffering of peoples domestic and abroad.

SBC(suicide by cop)? or is this another instance of trigger happy cops?
Where is the video??

@Samule, What do you mean "as usual there was no real gun". That is such a stupid comment. How are the cops supposed to know. Are cops supposed to get shot first and then hopefully if they survived they can shoot back.@Ciaran, Prisons are stocked because people are idiots and want things the fast way instead of working for it. Having worked in a jail,,I c it all the time. They learn absolutely nothing. While in jail, they are constantly trying to be sneaky. Stealing extra lunches, clothing, gloves or their cellmates personal items. Just maybe if we held them accountable instead of blaming cops just maybe the prisons won't be as stocked. @Red, What do you mean where is the video? or another trigger happy cops. I believe the cops were minding their own business when this loney tune began brandishing a weapon at innocent people. They called the cops and they cops did their job. He could have stopped surrendered to the cops but no,,he did the ultimate and paid the price.
I wonder if you all would have made the same comments, if one of the innocent bystanders had shot and killed him after he brandished the gun at them.

Yo Bosslady....I'm sure your intentions are good, but our world is still filled with corrupt cops. Why is it that we read about a cop taking some ones life every other day? Shoot now, ask questions later. You seem pretty sharp, I'm sure you know what we are all talking about.
